Steven Spielberg, a genius on the big screen

Spielberg at the 79th Annual
 Academy Awards (2007)

Steven Allan Spielberg is one of the most important and influential cinematographic personalities in film´s history. His parents were both born to Russian Jewish immigrant families and Steven was born on the 18th of December in 1946 in Ohio (USA).

Nowadays, Spielberg is mainly known, not only for being an excellent director, but also as a magnificent producer and a writer. He has participated, since his early years, in more than twenty films. In fact, some of his movies are adaptations of books and comics. Following his huge success, he has participated in the following film adaptations:

“War Horse” was adapted from the book of Michael Mogpurgo.

“The adventures of Tintin” adapted from Hergé´s Tintin comics.

“Memors of a Geisha” adapted from Arthur Golden´s book.

This way, Spielberg achieved being a world wide known director, producer and scriptwriter who also has a lot of prestige in his profession. He was able to transform books and comics into films, offering us a new way to experience these stories.
In my opinion, he has achieved to turn books such as “Indiana Jones” and “Jurassic Park” into multilillorarie franchises.

This is one of the reasons that HBO is going to produce a documentary based on his extraordinary life.
